At the 2024 APEC leaders' Summit in Lima, Peru, across the ocean, 20 Taiwan BYD PLUS (overseas known as BYD ATTO3) was unveiled as the official car for the main venue. After its launch in Thailand, this model has won the top sales for three months in a row, winning 10305 orders in 42 days from October to December 12, 2022. It continues to lead the Thai pure electric passenger car market and won the "Thailand Best Electric SUV Award".
In New Zealand, BYD ATTO3 won the first place in pure electric car sales from January to May 2023, far surpassing Tesla, who ranked second. It went on sale in June 2022, becoming the most award-winning electric car in New Zealand in 2022, winning the title of "car of the year" in 2022.
In Singapore, BYD ATTO3 has been the No. 1 seller of pure electric cars for nine months in a row.
In Australia, BYD ATTO3 ranks second in cumulative sales of pure electric vehicles from January to July 2023.
In Brazil, BYD ATTO3 won the "most worth buying car of 2023" award, which led BYD to sell about 51299 vehicles in Brazil from January to September, accounting for 72 per cent of the local imported car market.
According to the media and user evaluation of the external network, what users value most about this model is its excellent acceleration and endurance performance on the one hand, and its unique rotating large screen and smart car system on the other. The former is highly competitive in the local market, while the latter is a unique existence in the whole market, giving consumers an unprecedented car experience.
Behind the leading product power is BYD's continuous saturated R & D investment.
According to official data, BYD's total R & D investment in the first three quarters of this year rose 33.6% year-on-year to 33.32 billion yuan, far exceeding Tesla's 23.24 billion yuan in the same period. Compared with China's listed car companies that have reported results, BYD's investment in the first three quarters is the sum of Changan, SAIC, Guangzhou Automobile, Jianghuai, Great Wall and LEADING IDEA.
So far, BYD has publicly invested more than 160 billion yuan in R & D and has nearly 110000 technical R & D personnel, making it the car company with the largest number of R & D personnel in the world.
It can be said that it is the unremitting investment in the field of technology research and development that has laid a solid foundation for the continuous improvement of BYD's overseas sales.
Through this as the official car supplier for the APEC 2024 leaders Summit, BYD can obviously effectively further enhance its brand image, which has further spread and strengthened its brand image under the widespread attention of the global media.
On November 8, 2024, the Peruvian Minister of Transport and Communications and other government officials attended the delivery ceremony of BYD's motorcade.
This not only means that the blue sea of car sales in South America has established a strong influence and direct sales growth point for BYD, but more importantly, as the APEC meeting itself focuses on regional economic cooperation and sustainable development, the emergence of BYD new energy vehicles as official vehicles is highly consistent with the green travel concept advocated by the meeting.
